Metrô de São Paulo

Distinct legal entity from CPTM (already in catalog) — Metrô operates the subway lines (1, 2, 3, and portions before privatization) while CPTM runs the metropolitan surface-rail lines; both are commonly confused/searched together. As of 2026 several Metrô lines (4, 5, 8, 9, 15) have been individually privatized to concessionaires (ViaQuatro, ViaMobilidade), but the parent Metrô company remains the reference brand for real-time line-status communication ('Direto do Metrô'). No public developer API or dedicated status page found; status is communicated via the official site/app/socials.
